I am currently recruiting a Head of Finance for a government body based in Manchester.
To support the Executive Director of Finance and Governance by overseeing the organisation's system of financial controls and leading and managing a team providing high quality finance and accounting services. Key duties include:
*Supporting the effective delivery of the recently agreed 4-year Financial Strategy *Coordinating and delivering the annual, 6-Month Review and 9-Month Review budget setting exercises *Managing the production of timely, high quality financial management information, including delivery of monthly summary reports to Executive Board. *Management of bank accounts in accordance with Government Banking Service guidance. *Developing and proactively managing effective relationships with key external stakeholders, which include teams from HM Treasury, the NAO, and our internal audit providers. *Producing the annual Resource Accounts and Summary Accounts, which comply with HM Treasury's Financial Reporting Manual *Managing and continuously improving the organisation's system of internal financial control, including monitoring adherence to procedures and ensuring that internal guidance and desk instructions are maintained and updated regularly. *Ensuring that the annual internal audit on financial systems receives ratings of 'substantial' or 'full' assurance and that all relevant agreed recommendations are implemented on time.
You will be managing a team of 5 staff below (mixed qualified and transactional staff). You will need to be a fully qualified self-starter and have experience in leading a team.
This role is paying £55,000 plus benefits.
