Goodman Masson are currently supporting a highly regarded leading FTSE 250 institution in their search Group Technical Reporting Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone making their first move into industry from practice. Key Responsibilities: *Overall responsibility to support finance leadership team and wider finance stakeholders in all technical accounting issues; *Maintain the Group Accounting Policy Manual and lead the Group wide implementation of new accounting standards or changes to accounting standards; *Responsible for the production of statutory sections of the annual and interim financial statements. Enhance current disclosures; *Write accounting memos for the audit committee and group finance committee; *Preparing and presenting technical updates to the wider Finance teams including business finance teams as well finance operations team; *Manage the day to day relationship with the external auditors and take a leadership role in terms of interpreting accounting standards. Key aspect of the role is to build strong relationships with the external auditors; *Actively participate in business development discussions providing technical accounting advice to support both organic growth and acquisitions; *Provide technical assistance in the Group reorganisation projects; *Assist the Group consolidation manager with the periodic consolidation process; *Prepare cash flow statements and cash flow forecasts for the Group; *Take ownership of Group's goodwill impairment testing, including estimating Group WACC; *To fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business and give general support to the Head of Statutory Reporting.
Competencies: *Strong personal organisational skills; *Excellent written and oral communication skills; *Managing various internal/external stakeholders; *Ability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required.
Professional / Technical Skills: *Advanced technical knowledge of IFRS required, especially IAS 39, IFRS 9, IAS 36, IFRS 5, IAS 10-12, IAS 28, IFRS 15 and IFRS 3; *Good understanding of valuation skills; *Experience of Oracle, Hyperion Essbase and HFM will be an advantageous but not required.
Qualifications and Experience: *ACA qualified; *Big 4 trained; *Degree educated; *2+ years post-qualified.
