Goodman Masson is currently working with the leading brand name in international humanitarian aid to recruit a Senior Income and Controls Officer for their team.
You will work as part of the Finance Transactions team to drive the quality, efficiency, and accuracy of accounting, controls, and processes. In this role you will develop and maintain effective relationships with the Fundraising teams to ensure there is efficient resolution of income processes. Responsibilities: *Ensure that the Fundraising Income Database Interfaces are operating correctly and that any issues are quickly identified and resolved *Ensure that appropriate processes and controls are designed, tested and implemented on a timely basis. *Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims, liaising with the Tax Manager and Fundraising teams to ensure all processes and claims are appropriate and are updated to reflect any changes in legislation *Ensuring the bank reconciliation module in the Financial system are updated accordingly *Process transactions for the Sales Company accurately and promptly to maintain up to date accounting records *Maintain and ensure full reconciliation of bank and other control account reconciliations on a timely basis *Work with the team to identify areas where processes could be improved
Person Specification: *Part-qualified accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) *Strong problem solving and decision making skills *Applying technical and professional expertise *Extensive reconciliations experience, in particular working with large volumes of data *Intermediate to advanced excel skills *Adaptable and proficient when using finance systems *Able to work quickly and accurately with large volumes of complex transactions *Able to work independently and flexibly, with minimum supervision *Able to prioritise workload especially around month and year end
