An opportunity has become available in one of the UK's leading medical research charities for a qualified accountant to join as Senior Financial Accountant and Reporting Analyst. This role is perfect for candidates looking for their first role out of practice, but candidates from all industry backgrounds are welcome to apply.
In this role you will manage the Financial Reporting and Control agenda for the organisation by completing the external reporting requirements, including the Annual Report and Accounts of the group and any other regulatory returns required. You will provide a pivotal role in setting and maintaining the technical accounting framework, engaging with finance and the non-finance areas of the business. You will also own the supervision of the production of monthly financial reporting including the group consolidation and review the work of others in the team including balance sheet reconciliations and other financial control related tasks.
This role will manage a Senior Financial Accountant and two Financial Accountants so you will be responsible for the coaching and development of your team in addition to encouraging a culture of continuous improvement across both internal team processes and the wider business.
This role works closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis team so we are looking for someone with excellent communication and business partnering skills who is able to work collaboratively with other departments to foster best practice.

*Proven ability to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial staff at all levels. *Experience of the application, and ownership, of strict financial disciplines and controls. *Experience of a range of statutory reporting requirements. *Strong analytical skills to analyse, interpret and make practical recommendations on complex technical issues. *Commitment to accuracy and getting the job done within strict deadlines.
