Job Description
An exciting new role has become available in a leading brand-name International Development charity based in central London.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for a team of two and will be integral to the financial accounting and control responsibilities for the organisation.
The role will take responsibility for financial accounting, ensuring that all financial processing systems operate in accordance with organisational policy and statutory requirements. This includes the processing of all income, expenditure and adjustments needed on a timely basis. You will also be responsible for the integrity of the balance sheet, ensuring all accounts are reconciled on a regular basis and to lead the month-end processes in accordance with the agreed timetable to enable the Financial Planning & Analysis Team to prepare accurate monthly management accounts and trimesterly forecasts. You and your team will prepare appropriate financial control reports relating to the balance sheet on a monthly basis and for Trustee and advisory committees. To contribute the preparation of the annual statutory accounts of the charity and to take the lead on those aspects of the annual audit which relate to the team's responsibility.

What experience are we looking for?

*Extensive experience working in a finance function and managing staff
*Extensive experience of computerised financial accounting packages, preferably Great Plains, and other IT systems
*Extensive experience of using Excel, Word and Powerpoint
*Sound knowledge of VAT (including exempt, partial exemptions and reverse VAT), PAYE and other payroll taxes, and Gift Aid
*Sound knowledge of statutory accounting regulations
*Some knowledge of charity accounting regulations and experience of working in a charity environment

Other Requirements

*Qualified accountant with a minimum of three years' post qualification experience
